Governor, Bala Abdukadir Muhammad, has sacked 5 Commissioners from his cabinet, nominates 8 retained 13 in a move to strengthen Governance.
Report obtained by TMSnews gives the name of those affected as Dr. Jamila Dahiru – Commissioner of Education, Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu – Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Comrade Usman Danturaki – Commissioner of Information and Communication, Professor Simon Madugu Yalams – Commissioner of Agriculture and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza – Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.
According to a statement signed and issued by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, indicated that the move is to inject fresh blood into the system to strengthen the administration’s agenda of a stronger Bauchi
The statement reads: “Governor of Bauchi State, has approved the reconstitution of his cabinet. In that respect, five commissioners were dropped. This move reflects the administration’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance, in line with the Governor’s vision of strengthening the machinery of government and addressing emerging challenges effectively.”
Gidado added that, “The Commissioners affected by this development are: Dr. Jamila Dahiru – Commissioner of Education, Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu – Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Comrade Usman Danturaki – Commissioner of Information and Communication, Professor Simon Madugu Yalams – Commissioner of Agriculture and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza – Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.
The Governor extended his profound gratitude to the outgoing Commissioners for their dedication, service, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State stating that, “Their efforts have been instrumental in advancing key initiatives and policies of this administration.”
The Governor wished them success in their future endeavors, expressing confidence that they will continue to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Bauchi State and Nigeria.
He emphasized that,”This Cabinet reconstitution is a routine measure aimed at enhancing the administration’s effectiveness.”
The governor has, however, forwarded eight names to the State Assembly to be screened as commissioners.
The new prospective commissioners include Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde – Toro Local Government, Abdullahi Muhammad – Misau Local Government, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi – Dass local Government, Usman Usman Shehu – Shira Local Government, Iliyasu Aliyu Gital – Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah – Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Hon Adamu Babayo Gabarin – Darazo Local Government and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam – Toro Local Government.
Gidado reassured that, “The Governor remains committed to fulfilling the mandate of his administration and assures the people of Bauchi State that the government is steadfast in its mission to deliver impactful development and improved welfare for all.”
TMSnews recalled that Bauchi State Secretary to the State Government Barr. Kassim Ibrahim had earlier resigned appointment but reasons for the resignation were not made public.
Gov. Muhammad had already appointed Hon. Aminu Hammayo who was until his new appointment was the state Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning as the SSG
