Human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has urged Nigerians to continue the struggle of emancipation from the tyranny of the Nigerian government even if they kill him.
The activist was reportedly teargassed at the Unity Fountain in Abuja during a protest on Monday.
One of his lawyers, Inibehe Effiong, while narrating the incident, wrote on Facebook: “Omoyele Sowore has just been shot by a female police officer at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. He is being taken to the hospital for treatment. The officer fired a teargas cannister directly at his right thigh. Sowore was specifically targeted.
Also reacting to the incident, a former lawmaker, Shehu Sani describes the incident as unfortunate.
