NNPCL To Commerce Crude Oil Drilling In Keana On 21st March

The Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited), Mallam Mele Kyari has announced that oil drilling campaign will commence in Keana LGA of Nasarawa State on the 21st March 2023.

He made the announcement when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Abdullahi Sule at the Government House, Lafia.

“The visit is to intimate the Governor on NNPC Limited’s plans to commence oil drilling campaign in the State on the 21st March 2023.

“We have seen a great potential for finding hydrocarbon in Nasarawa State. To confirm this, we are going to start drilling on the 21st of March, 2023. We are very optimistic that it will be a successful exercise,” Kyari said.

Kyari stated further that the exploration work started since 2010, and as a tedious activity involving the gathering of data before making sense out of it, and deciding on the outcomes of the analysis, NNPC Limited had established a petroleum environment in Nasarawa State based on the analysis carried out on the data gathered from the state.

He attributed the progress made thus far to the encouragement received by the corporation from President Muhammadu Buhari.

“It won’t end there, once we find crude oil, we will do further work and everyone, the communities around it, Nasarawa State, and Nigeria, will benefit from it,” Kyari assures.
