Tension in Nasarawa as police Constable takes his life

A police Constable attached to Mada Station Division of the Nasarawa state command, constable Dogara Akolo Moses has allegedly shot and killed himself on Tuesday February 4th.

The incident according to an eyewitness accounts took place in Nasarawa Eggon local government area of Nasarawa State when the police officer allegedly went into a private room and shot himself where the sound of the gun prompted all officers on duty to run to the scene and met the deceased lying in the pool of his blood.

Constable Dogara Akolo Moses, according to report who was seen same day going about his normal duty, shot himself in one of the offices within the divisional headquarter in Mada station, without leaving any suicide note.

“Colleagues of the deceased who were outside the apartment heard the gunshot, prompting them to rush inside, where they found the officer lying on the floor with his gun beside him” he said.

The circumstances surrounding Officer Dogara’s tragic death are still unclear at the time of filling this report even as investigation is said to have commenced to unravel the circumstances behind his his action.

Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Nasarawa State Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the incident said investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the officer’s demise.
