Lamido: I’ll support Tambuwal if he decides to contest for president

Former Governor of Jigawa state and a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lamido has affirmed that he will throw his weight behind the emergence of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state as the PDP Presidential candidate should he opt to seek the party’s ticket to run for the position of President in the country come 2023.

Alhaji Lamido disclosed this at his country home of Bamaina in the Birnin Kudu local government area of Jigawa state on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that earlier on Monday this week, Governor disclosed that he had accepted the call by the people of Sokoto State to commence consultation across the country with a view to confirming the willingness of Nigerians to adopt his as candidate for President under the platform of the PDP. The Jigawa visit to elderstateman and one of the founder fathers of the party may have signalled the commencement of such consultations, the result of which would be announced to Nigerians this February.
