The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem has praised the remarkable service of Amb. Gabriel O. Egbe, outgoing Registrar of the University of Calabar, during a valedictory ceremony held in his honour at the institution’s Conference Centre.

Speaking on behalf of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ayambem commended Amb. Egbe’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence, which he said had left a lasting legacy at the University of Calabar.

“Your tenure has been proof of transformative leadership, fostering academic excellence, enhancing administrative efficiency, and prioritizing student welfare,” the Speaker remarked. “Your efforts have not only elevated the university’s reputation but also positively impacted countless lives.”

The Speaker in a press statement signed by the press secretary, Matthew Okache, further emphasized the importance of education in shaping society and the invaluable contributions of those who dedicate their lives to its advancement.

“Education remains the cornerstone of every progressive society, and your work as Registrar has set a benchmark for others to follow.”

Rt. Hon. Ayambem extended his best wishes, saying, “We celebrate your achievements today and look forward to seeing the positive impact you will continue to make in your future endeavours. Thank you for your service, and congratulations once again.”

Reesponding, Amb. Egbe expressed his gratitude to the Speaker for honouring his service, describing the ceremony as a fitting conclusion to his tenure as registrar at the university.
