The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, has stated that the command is fully prepared and equipped for the year 2025.
Speaking during a press briefing at the Bauchi State Command headquarters, CP Muhammad announced that the command will deploy further strategies to safeguard lives and property while building upon the successes achieved in 2024.
In 2024, they recovered twenty-three AK-47 rifles, four G-3 rifles, three SMG rifles, twenty-two fabricated or cut-to-size firearms, five fabricated pistols, and seven hundred and forty-six live ammunition of various calibers.
He said the command in addition, seized sixty-eight cutlasses, twenty-six knives, ten motor vehicles, twenty-nine motorcycles, sixty-nine handsets, twenty-eight tricycles, and cash totaling twenty-two million and thirty-eight thousand naira.
The Command achieved a total of one thousand, one hundred and eighty-two cases, resulting in the arrest of two thousand three hundred and twenty-two suspects. Out of these, six hundred and seventy-eight cases and eight hundred and ninety-five suspects were charged to court, with forty-eight cases culminating in successful convictions. The Command also documented seventy-three cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence during this period.
CP Muhammad attributed these successes to critical information provided by the public and emphasized the command’s commitment to accountable and transparent service delivery. He expressed gratitude to the citizens of Bauchi State, sister agencies, and the state governor for their support in fostering a safer Bauchi State.
