North-Central PDP representative of Elders, Lawmakers and Members of the National Convention Zoning Committee Members meeting held at the Plateau State Governor’s Lodge Asokoro Abuja under the able leadership of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and was presided over by the North-Central Zonal Vice-chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed.
The meeting was aimed to strategize, discuss and resolve issues ahead of the up coming NEC meeting taking place on the 25/8/2025 in preparation for the National Convention schedule to take place in Ibadan Oyo State. Therefore, the zone reaffirmed its strong commitment to strengthening its leadership and deepening its structures therein.
Standing on the earlier resolutions among other things for each Geo-political Zone to retain/maintain the status quo of positions in the zone wish to plead with the other zones from the North to imply justice, equity, fairness and sense of belonging to allow the North-Central Zone to maintain the position of the National Chairman which was pre maturely aborted during the Senator Iyocha Ayu led leadership of the party, without a replacement of same from the north central in accordance to the party constitution.
The high-level gathering deliberated among other things on consolidating PDP’s influence across the zone, harmonizing leadership structures, and aligning strategies to position the party for victory in future elections.
The North-Central elders collectively resolved and emphasized on unity, inclusivity and loyalty to the party as the guiding principles for sustaining PDP’s dominance in the zone and restoring its national leadership role sooner than later.
