The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar( Unical) , Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has praised the Minister of State for Industry and distinguished alumnus, Senator John Owan Enoh, for his commitment to nation-building.
Prof. Obi who showered the praises at the University Council Chambers during a courtesy visit by Senator Enoh, expressed pride in the Minister’s exceptional public service record, noting that he has consistently distinguished himself over his 22 years of service.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Tony Eyang, Prof. Obi added that the University of Calabar is proud to count Senator Enoh among its alumni and to celebrate him as a worthy ambassador of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor also highlighted the University’s upcoming hosting of the NUGA 2026 Games and appealed to the Minister for support.
She thanked Senator Enoh for his commitment to the UNICAL@50 Celebration, noting that the anniversary theme underscores the institution’s legacy.
In his response, Senator Enoh described his visit as a “homecoming” and expressed delight at the warm reception.
He pledged his continuous support for the University and its activities, stating, “I am profoundly honored to pay this visit. I congratulate the University on its 50th Anniversary.
” I thank you for upholding the values and dreams of this institution, which I am proud of any day, any time.”
