The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, HRM Orcivirigh Prof James Ayatse,has received a Gboko based manufacturer of different agro processing machines, Engr Jacob Tyo giving him royal blessings.
Tor Tiv who received Engr Tyo in his Palace in Gboko commended him for him for his technological exploits.
The Tor Tiv said he has always prayed for technological advancement that would bring ensure a prosperous Tiv nation, and expressed gratitude to God for prayers answered through the young machine manufacturer.
Professor Ayatse urged him to engage youths and train them as well to produce more of such machines to boost agric business in Tiv land.
The paramount ruler assured him of his maximum support to achieve his desires of replacing hard labour with mechanized farming. He also pledged to assist him reach out to appropriate authorities for financial assistance or sponsorship.
Earlier, Engr Jacob Tyo, while operating the latest agro-tiller machine he constructed in his workshop in Gboko told the Tor Tiv that the challenges faced by farmers has motivated him to construct the machines for them to reduce stress.
He said he also produced it to encourage mechanized farming in order to maximize productivity and have more value their labour.
He explained his desire to engage over 40 youths and impact his technological skills on them if empowered so that they can become self employed.
He disclosed that he has more ideas on how to construct machines that can harvest rice as well as agro processing machines for Benue farmers and even beyond.
He described his visit to the Tor Tiv as a remarkable day for him and the Tiv nation saying the great blessings and encouragement he received from “our great father” will spur him to bring more innovations in the technology world to the doorsteps of Benue farmers.
