Gov Bassey Edet Otu of cross River State has approved the appointment of Barr. Orok Bassey Okon as new Head of service
The appointment according to a statement by the Chief press secretary and Special Adiver to the governor on media and publicity, Linus Obogo, takes effect from 19th September 2025
“His Excellency, Senator (prince) Bassey Eden Otu, Governor of cross river state, has graciously approved the appointment of Mr Orok Bassey Okon as the new head of the state civil service”.
Thed statement explained that the appointment of Orok Bassey Okon followed the retirement of Dr innocent Ebri Event, whose career in the service of the state stands as a beacon of dedication and excellence.
Governor Otu charged the new Head of service to lead vision, integrity, and reform-driven Zeal, fostering efficiency, professionalism, and accountability across public service.
“The appointment underscores the administration steadfast resolve to enthrone competent leadership and strengthen the machinery of governance for optimal service delivery to the people of cross river state”, the statement added.
