PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Eighth Others, Dissolves Five State EXCOs in Major Anti-Party Crackdown

According to report by The Nation on Saturday, November 15, 2025, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Ambassador Umar Damagum, has taken a dramatic step by expelling the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and eight other prominent figures for what it described as serious anti-party offences.

The additional individuals affected by the expulsion include the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; Bature; Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN); Mohammed Abdulrahman; Mao Ohuabunwa; Austin Nwachukwu; George Turner; Abraham Amali; and Dan Orbi.

In a sweeping shake-up, the party also announced the dissolution of its executive committees in five states: Rivers, Abia, Imo, Plateau, and Enugu.

This decision marks one of the most extensive internal restructurings the PDP has undertaken in recent years.

These resolutions were adopted during the ongoing Elective National Convention in Ibadan. The motions were presented by two influential party leaders: Chief Bode George, a senior member of the Board of Trustees (BoT), and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.

George specifically moved the motion calling for the expulsion of the listed party chieftains, while Makinde sought the dissolution of the affected state leadership structures.

According to both leaders, the actions are fully backed by Section 33, subsection 2 of the 2017 PDP Constitution, which empowers the party to discipline members and reorganize its structures when necessary to protect its integrity and ensure internal cohesion.

The development has generated significant buzz within political circles, especially as it comes on the same day the party officially confirmed Umar Damagum as its substantive National Chairman at the convention.

The atmosphere around the convention has been charged with multiple side stories, including the noticeable absence of Governor Adeleke’s photograph on banners featuring PDP governors.

As events continue to unfold, the decisions made at the Ibadan convention appear poised to reshape the party’s power dynamics, sending a strong message to members about loyalty, discipline, and party supremacy.
