Democracy Day: Nasarawa Speaker honours founding fathers, seeks prayers for nation, leaders

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Ph.D has paid glory tributes to the nation’s founding fathers.

This is in commemoration of June 12, marking the 27th Democracy Day celebration in Nigeria.

The Speaker, Dr. Danladi Jatau in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lafia by his Press Secretary Jibrin Gwamna tasked citizens to intensify prayers for the nation to overcome its emerging challenges.

He also called for more prayers, enhance support for leaders and government at all levels to deliver for the people more democratic dividends.

The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen described the day as unique and historic in the journey of the nation saying that it is worth celebrating.

Speaker Jatau felicitates with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abdullahi Sule and the entire citizens on this year’s democracy day celebration.

Dr. Jatau re-assured that the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly under his watch will continue to do its best in ensuring that the much needed dividends of democracy is provided to the people.

He hailed and acknowledged the giant contributions of the nation’s founding fathers whom he said their efforts will never go in vain.

Jatau called on citizens to keep hope alive, support government and leaders at all levels to succeed and continue to pray for the nation to overcome its security, economy and other emerging challenges for the benefit of all.

While appreciating his colleagues, the Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for their understanding, cooperation and support, he re-affirmed his commitment for an all inclusive administration assuring of the House readiness to continue to partner and synergize with other arms of government to move the State to the greater hight and provide the much needed dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaker Danladi Jatau thanked the entire citizens of the State for their show of solidarity, understanding and support with the government of the day and assured of better days ahead.

He reminded citizens on the need to sustain peace and unity devoid of any religion, ethnic, political or other differences for the progress of the State.
