BREAKING: Saraki Napped By EFCC

The immediate past president of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of theft and money laundering.

According to reports, the former Kwara State governor was detained on Saturday.

Meanwhile, as at News time, neither the EFCC nor Saraki’s media office have confirmed or debunked the arrest.

As senate president between 2015 and 2019, Mr Saraki spent a considerable time facing allegations of corruption and false declaration of assets. He was acquitted by the Supreme Court in June 2018.

Similarly, Saraki’s successor as Kwara governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed was earlier arrested by the anti-graft agency.
