INSECURITY: FCT Police Raids Mountains, Dislodge Terrorists, Kidnappers

By TMS News

In a bid to rid the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja of terrorists and other dangerous criminal elements, the FCT Police Command has commenced operations targeting mountains used as hideouts by terrorists in the territory.

It was gathered that terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorising the FCT, especially in border communities, have their enclaves built around the mountains in Abuja.

The Command, acting on intelligence, raided some mountains and destroyed the hideouts of kidnappers in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

It said mountains in Yangoje and Old Chukuku in the Kwali Area Council have so far been cleared of criminal hideouts by the police.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations, Ben Igwe, said the operation would be sustained until all criminal elements were dislodged from the territory.

The raid is coming few weeks after TMSnews did an exclusive report warning that terrorists are already camping near the capital city of Abuja.

Recall that there have been several cases of kidnappings and attacks on communities in the FCT such as Tungan Maje, Gwagwalada, Kwali, Kuje and many others by terrorists in recent times.
