The Convener of RevolutionNow, Sowere Omoyele and a former presidential aspirant has been allegedly shot by a female police officer at the Unity Fountain, Abuja this morning.
The female police officer is said to be CSP Atine. She fired a teargas cannister directly at Sowore. This is a criminal offence under the Anti-Torture Act of 2017.
A lawyer and human rights activist, Inibehe Effiong said he watched the CEO of Sahara Reporters being shot live via Facebook.
Details of what Sowere is doing at the Unity Fountain isn’t clear yet but Barr. Effiong tweeted:
” The criminal officer is said to be an ACP. I watched Sowore being shot live on Facebook.
“This is what Nigeria has been turned into under Buhari. They’ve declared war on the Civic Space.
“It is not yet clear whether the officer fired a gun or a teargas cannister. What is clear is that Sowore was directly targeted.”
