HURIWA TO ASARI DOKUBO: BE SENSITIVE, STOP YOUR GARRULOUS ATTACKS ON RULE OF LAW TO UNDERMINE NNAMDI KANU

THE HUMAN RIGHTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (HURIWA) strongly condemns the insensitive, callous and irrationally calculated attempt by a self-acclaimed militant leader in the Niger Delta, known as Mr. Asari Dokubo to intentionally influence the outcome of the trial of the detained leader of the now proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Federal High Court. We condemn the systematic campaign of calumny by Mr. Asari Dokubo targeting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is on trial in a competent court of law in charges filed by the federal government of Nigeria.
We think that his (Dokubos)constant media outbursts seeking to undermine the defense that maybe put up by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the Court is totally unconstitutional, primitive,  tendentious, provocative and animalistic and he must be called to order. Is Nigeria a nation without a conscience so much so that a citizen on trial is being allowed to be so abused, harassed and intimidated by garrulous reactionaries?
We observed that Nigeria has become virtually a banana republic under this current administration going by the fact that the same government that allegedly abducted a citizen far away from Kenya and brought him back to Nigeria to face trial on already existing matter before the court of law which was disrupted by the federal government that sent Soldiers to the home of the father of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Umuhia to attack Nnamdi Kanu which led to the death of over eighteen persons and thereby necessitated the action of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu fleeing for his life.
It is sad that this same government that have committed an atrocity of abducting a citizen from Kenya which is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the same government that is engaging  in media trial, meaning that the government does not believe in constitutional democracy. This is the reason why the likes of Mr. Asari Dokubo and his ilks are constantly in the media trying to undermine the rule of law by seeking to influence proceedings in the court including  calling for an indefinite detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
If this were in United Kingdom, The court would have taken action against Mr. Asari Dokubo because you do not try to influence the proceedings of the court of law by using the media of mass communication which is subjudicial and contemptuous.

The  criticism by Mr. Asari Dokub0  blaming IPOB as the one behind Mondays sit-at-home is nonsensical because IPOB is not behind the Monday  sit-at-home. Asari Dokubo should shut up and go do something productive for his community and his family and stop these petty quarrels that exposes him as someone who is very veering off to the arena of being callous, insensitive and inhumane in a matter of a court case between a citizen and a dictatorial government.
