In their last minute desperation, the APC in Nasarawa state has procured the services of President Muhammadu Buhari to issue a broadcast urging people to vote for Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State. This is in addition to various under hand maneuvers including a series of desperate moves such as voter intimidation, coercion and hiring of thugs and mercinaries to rig the March 11th governorship election in the state.
First sign of desperation was the hiring of traditional rulers, then intimidation of civil servants and other interest groups and later, follow by the destruction of billboards belonging to the opposition PDP.
Seeing that the populace are still resisting their ploys evidenced as in the last February 25th presidential and National Assembly elections in which APC lost woofully, Gov Abdullahi Sule is said to have finally procured the services of President Muhammadu Buhari to make a special promo being broadcast on the state own media and online outfits to curry presidential sympathy.
According to the publicity Secretary of the party, the half empty broadcast has failed short of getting desired results because citizens are still groaning from Sule’s bad policies and some national disasters such as the ill fated currency swap, return of fuel queues with attendant hardships, hunger and other numerous challenges.
The presidential broadcast also failed short in addressing the increase transport cost since he came in to commission only two motor parks, no buses, after four solid years of Gov Sule’s administration.
Rather, the transport fare from Lafia to New Karu, Keffi and Akwanga has shut up from #800, 00 what used to be previously to now #3,500,00 while cost of food items have gone beyond comments in a state vast in agriculture.
The president never knew that terrorists are fast taking over Sule’s Nasarawa state. That a chairman of his party, late Chief Philip Shekwo was kidnapped in Lafia, the state capital and slaughtered like a ram.
Mr President never knew that Nasarawa farmers are no longer going to their farms due to the fear of bandits under Gov Sule thus increasing the cost of living amongst citizens.
The president is not aware that welfare of state workers and their families is at the very low rate.
Having realized that the broadcast is not bringing the desire impacts, Gov Sule also went to neighbouring Benue state to hire the services of ex Gov George Akume and the APC governorship candidate, Rev Fr Hycinth Alia to assuage a community that has suffered severe security, political and economic damage to vote him for a second term.
If the administration of Gov Sule was impactful, the APC won’t have resorted to this desperate moves.
The president is unwittingly demarketing APC in Nasarawa state.
The PDP says “we are not intimidated because the voters know what they really want.
