The former Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Mike Omeri has paid a glowing tribute to the former military head of state, General Ibrahim Badamisi Babagida on his 84 birthday.

Dr Omeri n a release, celebrated a man he described as a visionary leader whose legacies remain impactful and will continue to linger in the history of Nigeria.

“On behalf of my family and I, we celebrate a visionary leader, President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR, who is fondly remembered as “builder of modern Nigeria.”

“His impactful leadership continues to leave an indelible mark on the nation’s history. As both a military leader and statesman, he guided Nigeria through periods of major turbulence, concede power as military Head of State,”and continues to be a beacin for aspiring leaders the statement stated.

According to the statement, between 1985 and 1993, President Babangida initiated significant economic and infrastructural projects. His administration introduced policies and programs aimed at boosting economic growth and national development, equally investors in critical sectors which largely contributed greatly to Nigeria’s progress.

The statement noted his avowed commitment to family values, a virtue that has made him an adviser to aspiring and other numerous leaders both at home and abroad.

“On the global stage, he strengthened Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and advanced its image as a respected player in international affairs.

“As President Babangida clocks 84th, my family and I acknowledge and celebrate his enduring contributions to Nigeria’s development and love for my family. His legacies as a leader who helped shape modern Nigeria remains deeply appreciated. We wish him continued good health, peace, and fulfillment in his years ahead.
