The Divine Romance and The Political Nightmare

Good morning Alago Nation

They say *falling in love with the Lord is the greatest romance* and they’re right.

Seeking Him is the greatest adventure, because no GPS can guide you except faith, and no algorithm knows your heart like He does.

Finding Him is the greatest achievement, because you stop chasing shadows and start holding substance.

And being with Him is the greatest source of happiness, the kind that doesn’t expire when the battery runs low or when the crowd goes home.

It’s a love that doesn’t ghost you, doesn’t send you “seen” without reply, and never asks you to fund His campaign after the wedding.

But then… there are politicians.

With some of them, voting is the beginning of your nightmare.
You say “I do” at the ballot box, and by morning they’re in a new relationship with your mandate and an old relationship with empty promises.
“Roads are coming.” “Youth empowerment loading.” “Trust the process.”
Three years later, the only thing loaded is their bank account, and the only process is how fast they forget your name and stop picking your calls.

And here’s the irony: *some become the enemy of themselves*.
They start a lifestyle in office they can’t maintain out of it—big cars, big houses, big grammar.
Then the tenure ends, the convoy disappears, and suddenly they’re trying to survive on the same “God will provide” they mocked you with.
It’s like buying a jet on credit and forgetting you don’t know how to fly.

The Divine Romance never leaves you stranded.
It doesn’t promise you heaven and deliver you to hardship.
It doesn’t take your vote, your voice, and your peace, then tell you to be patient for the next four years.

So today, Alago Nation, choose your romance wisely.
One is eternal and fills you up.
The other is seasonal and drains you dry.

Falling for God costs you nothing but gives you everything.
Falling for the wrong politician costs you everything and gives you nothing but stories to tell your grandchildren – “once upon a time, we voted.”

Let’s be lovers of truth, not victims of packaging and sweet talk.

May your heart rest where it belongs.
May your votes not bring you regret.

Happy Friday.
