“Stability is the bedrock of progress; a nation that perpetually restarts never truly arrives.”
In the high stakes theater of Nasarawa State’s 2027 gubernatorial race, the formal endorsement of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada by Governor Abdullahi Sule has signaled more than a mere change of guard; it has codified a governing philosophy.
This alliance, anchored by the “Muje Maha” (Let’s Go Together) doctrine, positions Wadada not as a disruptor, but as the primary custodian of a developing industrial legacy.
While rivals advocate for radical shifts or “third force” revolutions, Wadada’s candidacy is built on the premise that Nasarawa’s recent strides in industrialization and infrastructure require a steady, experienced hand to transition from foundation to fulfillment.
Wadada’s platform, often summarized by his “HEARTS” agenda, focuses on Health, Education, Agriculture, Resources, Technology, and Security.
As the current Chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee (SPAC), his mandate is rooted in a unique blend of private sector savvy and legislative oversight.
His policy framework envisions the conversion of Nasarawa from a raw material exporter to a value addition hub, specifically targeting the solid minerals and agricultural sectors.
By promising to sustain the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), Wadada aims to reassure investors that the state’s business friendly climate will remain a permanent fixture beyond the current administration.
Yet, the “Muje Maha” movement is as much about political equity as it is about economics.
By backing Wadada, Governor Sule has leaned into the historical argument for zoning, asserting that after a twenty year hiatus, it is the rightful “turn” of Nasarawa West to lead.
This strategic alignment seeks to consolidate the APC’s base against the growing influence of “third force” professionals, framing the 2027 contest as a choice between proven continuity and speculative change.
For Wadada, the challenge lies in proving that he is not just the Governor’s choice, but a leader with the independent vision to refine the “Muje Maha” spirit into a permanent blueprint for state wide prosperity.
