Italian expatriate engineers have resumed work at the Benval Fruit Juice Company, a subsidiary of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), as preparations intensify for the full commencement of production slated for February 2026.
The engineers have arrived at the factory and commenced testing of key machines to ensure optimal performance ahead of the planned takeoff.
The reactivation of the fruit juice factory is in line with the vision of the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, aimed at curbing post-harvest losses of oranges and mangoes across the state while boosting agro-industrial development.
Recall that in September last year, the company successfully carried out a test-run of the juice factory, producing its first batch of juice. However, to guarantee seamless and sustainable operations, further comprehensive technical work was required to fully integrate and stabilize the production systems.
Speaking through Engineer Boager, one of the Italian engineers on site, the expatriates assured that all machines are in good working condition and are being fine-tuned to meet the February production target set by the Group Managing Director (GMD), Dr Raymond Asemakaha.
Engineer Boager also commended Governor Alia for his foresight in reviving the factory and praised the GMD for effectively driving the vision in a manner that will benefit the people of Benue State, particularly farmers and youths who stand to gain from increased economic activities.
